Well, well, well, look who we have here! 👀

I’m Martin, a Creative Project and Programme Director specialising in initiatives that educate, engage, and empower. I create collaborative environments where creativity thrives and bold ideas come to life, both online and offline. My work has led me to partner with Google, United Nations, and Meta, to name a few.

Drop me line at martinwelshlondon@gmail.com to discuss your projects and explore how we can work together, let’s make it happen!

WE! ARE Africa Unmuted

We!Are Africa Unmuted is a movement empowering Africans to raise their voices against climate injustice. I collaborated with artists, creative hubs and civil society organisations to co-create Moments of Change with communities at the forefront of the climate crisis. I forged strategic partnerships with Meta, Greenpeace, WeTransfer, Africa No Filter and MultiChoice. Together, we amplified Africa’s message to millions and advocated for a better future at COP27 in Egypt and beyond.

The Cosmic Circus

For A Curious Encounter with the Cosmic Circus, I led a multidisciplinary team of spatial designers, lighting and audio specialists to transform Printworks London into a galactic dreamland— blending immersive spectacle with interstellar sustainability. Guests stepped into an interactive circus performance, surrounded by a 200-strong choir, themed food stations, and Hot Chip on the decks.

Climate and Health in Kenya

To raise awareness of the impact of climate and health Open Planet and the Wellcome Trust commissioned filmmakers to capture footage in the informal settlements of Nairobi, Kenya. I recruited young creators and supported them in creating thought-provoking short films that utilised Open Planets footage. These films reached over 10 million people through digital amplification and an impact screening tour of schools and communities.

#Tax The Super Rich

To highlight the importance of equitable taxation of billionaires I engaged a network of global influencers, musicians and activists for a social first campaign spearheaded by Oxfam, The Patriotic Millionaires and creative agency Don’t Panic.

Africa Climate Week

To address the lack of youth access and engagement at Africa Climate Week, a dedicated space was established for creatives and change-makers. I curated sessions on Funding, Scalability, Branding, and Creative For Change, featuring speakers from Docubox, the British Council, Mastercard Foundation, and Africa’s leading fundraising platform, M-Changa. The venue was also available for youth-led sessions. Over three days, more than 300 people attended and took part in discussions.

Verified

The Verified initiative, for the United Nations delivered life-saving information on COVID-19 and showcased stories of humanity at its best. As a Program Lead, I worked with communicators, creatives, and researchers to produce content based on the latest information and guidance. This content ranged from short-form videos and animated GIFs to full-scale campaign moments and communication guides designed to help health workers and community leaders encourage vaccine uptake.
